Mark W. Roark, OD, FAAO wanted to be an Optometrist at the age of eight. He moved toward
that goal after being Admitted With Distinction by Butler University where he completed most
of his undergraduate study. He then graduated from the Indiana University School of Optometry
with his Doctorate of Optometry with High Honors in 1984.

After gaining extensive experience in various practice modes, Dr. Roark started his own practice
in Fishers, Indiana in 2003 and moved to a larger location six years later where the practice
continues to grow. The emphasis on the latest technology is evidenced by the fact that his
practice was one of the first in Indiana to offer Corneal Refractive Therapy and the first to fit
WAVE Contact Lenses, offer VEP Evaluation and perform Macular Densitometry. Advanced
medical eye care is a hallmark of the practice with nutritional counseling for conditions such as
AMD and Dry Eye Syndrome playing a prominent role.

Dr. Roark has lectured to various groups on Medical Billing and Coding for Optometry, Dry Eye
Disease Management, and proper use of Macular Carotenoids in Eye Care. He has also presented
posters on Specialty Contact Lenses at the Global Specialty Lens Symposium including an
award-winning poster in the clinical category. He is a member of the American Optometric and
Indiana Optometric Associations.
