Employee performance is a combination of several elements – hiring the right people, having the right training, have the right expectations… We can agree on all of those items. However, a large part of that equation is accountability and saying the RIGHT thing when needed. Coaching sounds easy and yet we can often walk away from conversations feeling misunderstood. Visually Induced Trigeminal Dysphoria May be the leading source of Headaches, Eyestrain and Dry Eye Sensation

After years of in-depth clinical research conducted at neurology centers nationwide, a new link between optometry and neurology has been discovered.  Results from a series of clinical studies on headache patients revealed that symptomatic patients shared a common trait: a misalignment in their vision that caused specific symptoms when using digital devices, reading or doing near work.  Patients studied were found to share a common trait: a misalignment in their vision that was believed to put continual stress on the trigeminal nerve – the largest and most complex nerve connected to the brain, and the one responsible for head, eye and neck sensations. A further review of optometric literature revealed complaints of similar symptoms documented throughout history, predating the use of digital devices.  You will gain an understanding of the optical neurological mechanism triggering headaches and how it relates to neck pain/tension and eye fatigue.  You will also gain new insights into how to identify and treat patients suffering from a misalignment in their vision.

Utilizing Modern Communication to Create the Best Patient Experience

Often, OD’s focus heavily on the clinical aspect of their practice as they should. However, the focus on the business end of their practice can suffer. A healthy, thriving practice is essential to provide the best care for a patient. In my experience, practices want to understand how to create the best experience for their patients but are not given the information or tools for success. Even a successful practice (like any other business) wants to continually progress and implement better systems and practices to continue to separate them from their competition and keep patients returning as loyal, raving fans. Observing how other businesses innovate to improve their customer experience can teach valuable lessons that can be borrowed to create the best experience for our patients as well.

The schedule is one of the heart beats of your practice. It is vital to have a system that everyone in the office understands. We all make appointments in our offices when that is not our primary job and if we don’t schedule patients on a regular basis it is confusing where to put a patient. How well you schedule will determine your growth from year to year in your practice. This course outlines how to set up a schedule so the doctor sees the number of full exams he wants to see and it is easy for anyone in the office to determine where a patient can be booked.

Roundtables

IDOC’s Roundtable Groups are a unique opportunity to take advantage of the wisdom and experience of your fellow iECPs and apply it to your practice.

How It Works: Participants will be grouped with 8-12 other practice owners from all over the county; you will have no competitors in your group.  Each participant will bring one success strategy that’s worked for their practice and three issues in their practice that the group will help to solve.  Groups will be facilitated by an IDOC team member so everyone can just focus on learning from one another.

IDOC Consultant, Nathan Hayes, says “as much as I’ve learned as a consultant working with hundreds of independent practices, I learn something new every time I moderate a Roundtable Group.”

Sign up now for the Connection 2020!

You must select Roundtables in your registration by January 15th.

No exceptions, thank you!
