General questions

If your question isn't answered below, please contact the IDOC Events Team.

Q:  Where is the conference located?

A:  The conference will take place at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center in Denver, Colorado.

Q:  How much does it cost to attend?

A:  Events are offered free as a benefit for IDOC Members and their staff. Not an IDOC Member? Cost to attend is valued over $1,000, however we are offering a discounted rate of $350 to give you a chance to experience IDOC in person.

Q:  What airport should I fly into?

A:   The closest airport to the Gaylord Rockies is Denver International Airport (DEN).

Q:  Is there transportation from the airport?

A:   There is not dedicated transportation from the airport to our event hotel. We recommend using a taxi, Uber, or Lyft. Please note that the hotel is about 10-15 minutes from the airport.

Q:  I'm driving. How much is parking?

A:  Self parking over conference dates is $23/vehicle/day. Valet parking is $48 per day.

Q.  What is the hotel room rate?

A: IDOC has an exclusive room rate of $269 per night, excluding taxes. Click here to book your room now.

Q:  Can I bring a guest to the conference?

A: If your guest is an OD or staff member, please have them register for the meeting. If they are a staff member of an IDOC practice, they should register as an IDOC member. Know an independent practice owner who could benefit from the support and community IDOC provides? Invite them to Connection and introduce them to IDOC! You can share the benefits of IDOC membership and earn up to $1,100 in referral rewards when you refer a friend to IDOC.

Any other guests not associated with an optometric office are not allowed to attend the conference, but are welcome to attend any after-hours events or receptions.

Q.  Do I need to pre-select the courses I want to attend?

A:  Advance registration for courses is encouraged but not mandatory. However, there are certain options that must be selected in advance including roundtables.

Q:  Is there childcare provided?

A:  No, there is no childcare offered at Connection 2027.

Q:  What should I wear?

A:  Most attendees dress in business casual. The meeting rooms can get cold, so bring a jacket.

Q:  Why is there a fee for Roundtables?

A:  We are requiring a $100 fee for roundtables that will be refunded at the close of the conference. This fee is required to help discourage no shows. We custom build these groups to set all attendees up for success and want to ensure each group is full.

Q: Who should attend?

A: The Connection is where your whole practice can grow stronger together. You’ll find programming for Practice Owners, ODs, Associate ODs, Office Managers, Opticians, Optical Managers, Optometric Techs, Billers, and other key team members.

Q: Are Roundtables available for Opticians this year?

A: Yes. For the first time, IDOC is offering dedicated Optician Roundtables. These peer-led conversations have limited space and require advance registration.
