Independent optometry practices are facing greater and greater pressure on their retail sales.  This lecture will consider several cases of the ‘new’ retail paradigm from outside optometry, review key benchmarks that owners can use to measure their practices’ success, and discuss concrete tactics to help improve retail sales or to blunt the impact of lower retail capture rates.

Key objectives:

  1. Describe the new retail paradigm, with cases of new, upstart retailers that are similar to eyecare’s competition
  2. Describe the key elements of revenue growth, or how owners can measure their practice’s results and progress over time.
  3. Propose concrete training and marketing tactics to help practices better compete in today’s retail environment.
